You’re right, the idea of expecting an attendance of 2000 in a con’s first year is absurd. Also, I think putting it up in that apparently very nice convention center was a mistake as well. Don’t get me wrong, nice convention centers are fabulous, but expensive. We were really excited about this con, but unfortunately none of us had the money to make it up there from NC this year, especially after committing to not only our yearly Animazement, but also AWA and Otakon. However, if it does come back again in 2010, I think they can certainly expect a delegation of around 6-12 from down south in Raleigh.

I adored the con. Even though it was a small attendance,I still had a blast.

Atendance was just over 300 I think, If I remember correctly.

Nice article. I was curious how this con would turn out. They had a few too many things going against them. The age limit was one thing. But the pure cost of it all added up was just too much for a 1st year con.
