I haven't seen the second 20th Century Boys movie yet, but I read all the manga and saw the first movie. I was really impressed by the depiction of the characters in the movie, most were totally spot on in both appearance and in simply how they acted. I went in expecting to be let down by the movie (since I liked the manga a lot and generally find I don't like adaptations), but was very much surprised by the overall quality and faithfulness to the manga. Of course some things had to be glazed over, TCB is a very long manga series, but they did a great job of really taking all the key elements of the story and incorporating them into the movie.

I was also quite impressed with the depiction of the Bloody New Year's Eve in the movie. I was afraid it was going to look totally cheesy and unrealistic. My expectations, thankfully in this case, were not met at all.

I really want to see Be A Man! Samurai School now. It sounds like my kind of movie.

For anyone who enjoyed Lala Pipo, I would recommend another (less perverted/comedic) documentary called "The Great Happiness Space" which is about a group of guys working at a host club in Osaka. I found it surprisingly engrossing. Did you know that the majority of women who visit male host clubs are actually hostesses themselves? If you have Netflix, you can stream it online (with subs thank god) rather than waiting for the DVD to ship.
