Hisui Dream Diary #2August 16, 2012
I don’t regularly remember my dreams or keep any sort of dream journal but I have learned the trick to remembering your dreams is to repeat what happens in the dream to yourself out loud as soon as you wake up. It commits the dream to a longer term part of memory. And so I do not know how often I will be able to write posts like this but I consider this part one of an irregularly updated ongoing series. It is all dependent on when I remember dreams that are worth talking about on the blog.
OK. Just so you know. It is all downhill from here. No matter what happens all dreams in the Hisui Dream Diary will at most maybe hope to be in the second place position. I had the ultimate dream to which all other dreams are inferior.
It all starts at Otakon 2013. The big announcement is that someone licensed the Fate/Stay Night visual novels. I found out about the announcement over twitter but I was not at the panel where they announced it. I am alone in the Press Room celebrating the good news. This might seem like the sum total of the dream but that is only the beginning.
Apparently Ayako Kawasumi was a guest at the convention. That too is not just the end of the dream. What I missed out on was that at the panel was to promote the announcement they had Saber’s voice actress herself dressed as Saber. The whole 9 yards. The blond wig, the green contacts, the signature blue dress and silver armor. They even had her with the Excalibur: Sword of Promised Victory and Avalon: The Everdistant Utopia prop combo as the Pièce de résistance. So while I am glad that the game got licensed I am a bit crestfallen that I missed such a wonderful piece of promotion. But this is also not a nightmare.
Because who should walk into the press room but Ayako Kawasumi still in full costume. So she happens to sit down right next to me and just starts up a random conversation about how my con has been going. The conversation is super informal. Nothing amazingly important is said. The normal getting to know you conversation you would have with someone you meet at a con. But beyond that she is super flirty. Like lost of casual touching and conversation in that zone of personal space that is not romantic but is clearly usually only reserved for acquaintances. Of course since this is a dream she is totally using the Saber voice the whole time.
There dream pretty much ends there. I think partially because my brain was protecting me. Had the dream gone on any longer I might have died in my sleep after a massive joy induced heart attack. But man oh man. Just that image alone will be forever impressed upon my consciousness. BEST DREAM EVER.
So if it were your dream who would you have met in that press room?
