The Blog:

Reverse Thieves was started in July of 2007 with the goal of presenting double the opinion of most everything, it is just that basic. Instead of one person writing, we both write about the same topic alternating back and forth. And at the beginning of 2010 we started our own podcast with the help of Anime3000 which fills a gap in the blog, or maybe just fulfills our once-secret desires to be podcasters. Beyond that our mission statement involves a few ideas. First, we want to put forth ideas and analyze themes, characters, a series’ place in history, or a number of other things. Our editorials also extend into things like discussions about the industry and creating helpful guides. Second, we want to tell people about shows they might have overlooked. We don’t review shows we don’t like for the most part, there is enough of that out there. And unless we have a reason, we only review shows after a complete watching (or sometimes a season at a time). For short stints or episode reviews you can look to the Ongoing Investigations post. Third, we like to review events, and being lucky enough to live in NYC where there is so much going on, it wouldn’t be right if we didn’t share it. We also get the privilege of attending some events as press or doing various panels at conventions. And lastly, we attempt to take a critical look at modern fandom. In 2009 we started the Otaku Diaries Project an experiment aimed at learning more about the growing community of anime fans.

Reverse Thieves is none too big but we are determined to stick around and have our voices heard.

LOTHOS
Little is known of the man simply called Lothos. He appears to be in his mid to late 20s, stands about 5’9, most often appears rather unkempt, and has a propensity for smoking cigarettes. His favorite words include “meh,” “hrm,” and “bah.” His favorite color is dark grey. His favorite food is pizza. His lucky numbers are 3, 17, 23, and 26,951.

The first recorded sighting of Lothos was shortly prior to the assassination of Egyptian president Anwar Al-Sadat in 1981. While there is no official evidence proving so, it as generally agreed upon that he had no involvement in this particular matter, despite him being linked to various other nefarious actions since. During the next few years he spent his days studying midwestern United States culture and assimilated himself into their community. He had a cat named Dante for a short while, and later a dog named Sherlock. Both animals are currently missing, whereabouts unknown.

During the late 90s is when he began having regular communications with another POI (person of interest) known as BoxingOctopus (see file #090238). While it is uncertain exactly how many dubious plots the two collaborated on, it is quite apparent through both circumstantial evidence and eye witness accounts that the two were operating in tandem. It was also around this time that he developed an interest in Japanese culture, particularly their multimedia. Procured bank records from various retailers indicate large sums of money were spent on this hobby, the sources of this money are unknown as the accounts were held in Zurich and such information is not available. He showed a particular interest in the animated television series “Neon Genesis Evangelion” and had an almost careless attitude towards purchases regarding said title.

He is ruthless in his endeavors and through the investigation of crime scenes and suspected hideouts it has been determined that he displays perfectionist qualities. Currently his whereabouts are unknown as are his assignments. We are investigating a user at the website www.reversethieves.com” who refers to himself as Lothos and is in possession of certain intelligence which makes him suspect. Further details will be disclosed as they are verified.

BOXING OCTOPUS
The Boxing Octopus is a marvel of cryptozoology. Once relegated only to the nightmares of fisherman, he is now known to have existed as the last of his species for atleast the last 6000 years. The Boxing Octopus is not a member of the octopus genus, but is in fact a man that can breath underwater and withstand the sub-freezing temperatures and extreme pressures of the deepest seas of earth. He gets his name from his ability to use his beard like an octopus’ tentacles. These tentacles can expand in size to seemingly no limit and he uses these appendages to sink ships or drink beers. On any average day, he would be indistinguishable from any normal human, and few mortals have witnessed his terrible abilities without paying with their lives. There has been speculation that the United States government has employed this creature, but no documentation or hard evidence exists at this point.

SKEITH
I was formed in Sydney, Australia in 1973. I am considered a pioneer of hard rock and heavy metal.

I underwent several changes before releasing my first album, High Voltage, in 1975. Membership in me remained stable until bassist Cliff Williams replaced Mark Evans in 1977. In 1979, I recorded my highly successful album Highway to Hell. I almost disbanded when Bon Scott died on February 19, 1980, after a night of heavy alcohol consumption. But soon, ex-Geordie singer Brian Johnson replaced Scott. Later that year, I released my best selling album, Back in Black.

I have sold more than 200 million albums worldwide, including 69 million albums in the US. I ranked fourth on VH1′s list of the “100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock.”

I was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in March 2003. During the ceremony, I performed “Highway to Hell” and “You Shook Me All Night Long”.

Steven Tyler of Aerosmith described my power chords as “the thunder from down under that gives you the second-most-powerful surge that can flow through your body.”
