Nina dies in a fire and other wishful thoughts about Code Geass.

May 19, 2010

In part two of our guest appearance on the Ani-Gamers podcast we talk about Code Geass seasons 1 and 2. With Evan we explore our thoughts and theories on many topics including the series ending, the flow of the story, our reaction to bizarre parts of fandom, and why Nunnally was the best character ever. It’s only one podcast so while we discuss what really stood out for us, we barely scratch the surface of the series as a whole. We are warning everyone now that you might as well assume we spoil everything including details about the conclusion and who lives and dies. Also we discuss the greatest and most guarded secret only known to a handful in the Code Geass community: What Kallen Stadtfeld’s face looks like.

Ongoing Investigations: The Movie presented by the Ani-Gamers Podcast

May 7, 2010

We made a little guest appearance on the Ani-Gamers podcast this month. It is broken into two parts, the first here is just a little bit about what we’ve all been reading, watching, and/or playing recently. It’s not particularly insightful but we each talk about stuff we haven’t gone into on the blog much like Tetsujin-28 (2004), Candy Candy,  and Sakura Wars 5.The second part where we finally get to let out our thoughts on Code Geass should be up in a week or so, we’ll let you know!

Let’s talk about stars that are not the Black Tri variety.

March 31, 2010

All this month our friends over at Ani-Gamers have been posting articles in honor of one of the most distinguished and important figures in anime and manga history: Osamu Tezuka. Evan also sent out an open call for anyone who wished to contribute to the site-wide celebration. He had a good deal of reviews but not that many pieces of analysis. So we answered with a brief discussion of Osamu Tezuka’s famous Star System. It is a short piece, an introduction really, to what exactly the Star System is. We then go on to talk about the different ways creators have gone on to use its influence. So have a look at it and the plethora of other Tezuka-themed pieces at Ani-Gamers!
