• Use the Force Against Cancer Charity Video
  Along with the release of Star Wars on Blu-Ray came this hilarious video with lots of comedians and other celebrities reenacting their favorite parts of Star Wars. I especially like Emma Stone as Leia and Ken Jeong Vadering it up. To donate pick up the t-shirts they are wearing in the video.
• DC Universe Online Goes Free to Play
  Just like many other MMOs, Sony is changing DC Universe Online into a tiered format where players can join and play for free starting in October.
• Explaining Decompressed Storytelling
  American comics and Japanese comics have very different storytelling traditions, Ogiue Maniax sorts out the differences and the complaints.
• 8-Bit Model Kits
  These are clever, just wish they were real!
• More Entries in the Women in Comics Conversation
  Newsarama has started a series with two entries so far, one about where women are in the creative side and one about historical factors that maybe have kept women out for so many years. There was also some controversy this week as issues of Catwoman and Red Hood and the Outlaws hit shelves stiring the pot on the exploitation of women.

Hisui’s picks:

• Fate/Zero is stream on Nico Nico in 8 different Languages
  @#$% Yeah! World wide release of Fate/Zero in Korean, Chinese (Traditional and Simplified), English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. The clearest sign Japan is really thinking internationally more and more. I will have more on this and other pieces of Type-Moon news later in the week. Until then here are some trailers.
  
• The Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World Trailer in Spanish
  Why is the regular movie not like this? There is just something about the line delivery that just catapults this into the realm of the divine. When they say thing like “Señor Pilgrim” or “It’s on like Donkey Kong” you cannot help but smile. I would watch a DVD for this Scott Pilgrim dub without a second thought.
• Kung-Fu Book Club
  I decided to class up the section by linking to the Fast Karate for the Gentleman book club podcast. For more scholarly than you would think of something related to Fast Karate but still conversational and entertaining. They have reviews of The Psychopath Test: A Journey Through the Madness Industry by Jon Ronson, The Player of Games of Iain M. Banks, and The Mountain People by Colin M. Turnbull. All I know isthe Mountain People is far too dark for me to ever read but I was glad to learn about it.
• Going Berserk for Trailers
  Just in case it all seemed like a dream we finally have some trailers for the trilogy of Berserk movies. Narutaki and I were a little surprised they emphasized the relationship between Guts and Casca but they had more than enough action. Can’t wait to see these movies.
• It’s Mahvel Baby!
  The Anime 3000 Geekfon podcast talks to Jordan D. White about his work as an editor at Marvel comics. They discuss the X-Men, anime, Deadpool, and Ender’s Game among other things. A good insight into the role of an American comic editor.  Also after this podcast I want My Little Beta Ray Bill: Asgardians are Magic.

• You Are Already Dead
  Fist of the Dead Star is possibly the best modification of Dead Island you will ever see. Yo wa shock.
• Where’s WALL-E
  A fun little poster. It has everyone from Bender, to Haro, to K-9. Can you name all the robots on the poster? How long did it take you to find WALL-E?
• We Have All Been There
  The dangers of work and the Internet. Anyone who has just enough time to kill can wonder where it all went.
• It Morphing Time!
  Insert-Disc is starting a podcast that is chronicling their attempt to watch every episode of the Power Rangers franchise since it was all announced that all the season would be on Netflix streaming.
• Geordie Tait’s open letter to gaming fandom
  While there are several points that I don’t agree with in his letter the wake up call about the state of misogyny in the fandom should not be ignored.

Narutaki’s picks:

• Plans for a Comic and Animation Museum in China
  The video is a virtual tour of the design. This thing is huge with room for screenings, a library, and much more. And there are mentions of theme park being around the outside? It’ll be interesting to see once construction starts.
• Marvel/DC Crossover Proposal
  Newsarama has a great idea: Marvel heroes VS. DC villains / DC heroes VS. Marvel villains. This is a series that could do on for a while if done right. Here’s hoping Marvel and DC take the idea! Also they made a Top 10 List for it. Personally, I’d be most excited about Avengers VS. Darkseid or X-Men VS. Lex Luthor!
• 2 New Gackt Projects
  Lots of Gackt news this week. First up was the announcement that he’ll be doing the new Sket Dance opening song. To finish out the week was an odd collaboration as Gackt will be working on a stage production with CLAMP called MOON SAGA Yoshitsune Hiden.
• Art for a Superman Fan
  People are coming out of the woodwork to help Mike Meyer who was a victim of theft earlier this month when a man befriended him only to steal his massive Superman collection of comics and memorabilia. It is a really sad story, but it is amazing how the community is responding and it has a happy ending as the thief was caught over the weekend.

• Watch the Original Gundam Movies for free
  Available legally for free. Haven’t seen them yet, now is a perfect time to experience this timeless story.
• Creators Remember Oracle
  If you aren’t up on your new DC 52 news, Oracle (Barbara Gordon after she was shot in The Killing Joke) has returned as Batgirl which has been pretty controversial within the fan community.
• Miyavi Concert Streaming
  J-Rocker Miyavi is celebrating his 30th birthday with a big concert bash. You can watch on Nico Nico Live and Ustream on 11:00 pm, September 13 (JST), 7:00 am, September 13 (PDT).
• Jonny Quest Opening Remake
  This stop-motion remake of the original cartoon opening is too good.

Hisui’s picks:

• Google can’t stop you now
  In case you missed Google’s celebration of Freddie Mercury’s birthdays here is the magic unleashed! If you did see it why not watch it again. On a related note I have another cool version of Don’t Stop Me Now as well.
• Fate/CLAMP Down
  Takashi Takeuchi visited the CLAMP offices and this art exchange was the result. Could Type-Moon and CLAMP be working on a joint project in Faust in the future? Also according to Carl from Ogiue Maniax the text on the side mentions the artist was drunk which probably explains why Saber’s head is so small compared to her body. Thanks to Jrnemanich for pointing this article out.
• The hand of density moves towards more Fate
  The first details about the sequel to Fate/Extra are out. Fate/Extra CCC will still have Sakura Tange again as the Fate/Extra version of Saber with 2 new playable servants as well. If you are interested in the US release of Fate/Extra then Siliconera is soliciting questions for Aksys, the company that is localizing the game.
• It is not just Type-Moon fans that get love recently
  As the happy sounds recently coming from my roommate part of the apartment prove there has been a good deal of Persona goodness recently. On top of the anime in the fall there is also a Vita remake of Persona 4 and a Persona fighting game.
• It is not just a convention about Aya Hirano
  Since I have been posted so many podcasts about people from Europe taking about American cons I might as well post one of the guys from Dynamite in the Brain talking about and English con experience with their coverage of Ayacon 2011.
