• Unlock Your 3DS
  I haven’t tried this out yet myself. The undoing of this region lock doesn’t then allow for ROMs, which just goes to show that Nintendo shouldn’t have locked the darn thing in the first.
• Image Expo Loves Us
  Way too much good news coming out of this convention which has quickly become a buzz event. Things I’m most looking forward to are 8House, Ody-C, Restoration, Low, and Bitch Planet. Plus, Kelly Sue DeConnick revealed there is going to be another arc for Pretty Deadly.

• Are you SURE these are by Peter Chung?
  I mean people are wearing pants. But I really want to have a burger at the Checkers near work now.
• OSMCast! Year of the Snake Awards Part 1
  The OSMcast! looks back over their favorite titles of 2013. The first part just focuses on TV, movies, and video games. Next week will cover anime and manga.
• In the Mouth of Madness
  All Geeks Considered look at the Eldritch Horror board game. It is creepy. You can easily go kooky. The atmosphere is mysterious and spooky. But is it all together ooky?
• The Tale of The Other Two Brothers
  The Veef Show has on a guest from The Macross Speaker Podcast to talk about Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross and Genesis Climber MOSPEADA. You know, the other two shows the used to make Robotech that no one care anywhere near as much about.
• Numbers Don’t Lie. On the Other Hand, People Can Use Them to Do so Rather Easily
  Algorithms and you. How might the various algorithms in our lives affect us?

 Because sometimes you just need some Cowboy Bebop…

  Vincenzo Averello from All Geeks Considered pointed out this article. It is grand merger of the nitpicking ability of comic nerds and science geeks all in one look at Batman’s Poison Ivy.
• The Other Classic Godfathers not Directed by Francis Ford Coppola
  The OSMCast looked at Tokyo Godfathers just in time for Christmas. I, like all of you, probably listened to it after Christmas.
• Deedlit Never Goes out of Style
  Nobuteru Yuki has her welcome in the year of the horse.
• The REAL Colbert Report
  Breaking news on where Stephen Colbert was in The Desolation of Smaug.

• Learn About Fanime (not the Convention)
  I had no idea this existed as a “genre” which people followed. Actually, I mostly didn’t know this existed period.
• TOR’s Top Anime for 2013
  I generally agreed with this! It kind of shocked me.
• Inio Asano and Felipe Smith Make the Short List
  Comics Alliance’s article on comic creators to watch for 2014 is an excellent guide and certainly has people who are on my radar. There is a balance and variety to the list that makes it relevant to comic and manga fans alike.

• Find Minifigs on Google Street View
  I  haven’t tried to find these yet. I enjoy whenever people do odd things when Google comes around.
• An Easy Chart of X-Men Continuity
  Ahaha! Very amusing and pretty much completely true. Considering just the other day we were discussing all of the multiple timeline children Cyclops has, it seemed like a good choice.  

 Alain’s picks:

• The Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy
  Chaos Theater looks at Edgar Wright’s Cornetto trilogy which is made up of Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and The World’s End.  Chris and Pedro also look back on their favorite things from 2013 in a mini awards show. But apparently they have one surprise left coming on on New Years Eve.
• At What Age Did the Balls Start Dropping?
  Apparently many cities in the US drop some object to celebrate the New Year outside of the ball in Times Square. Some of them are a bit … odd.

  I’m a little surprised I forgot to share this with her before this point.
• The Pacific Rim Theme Gets a Little More Awesome
  When it is performed by a robot drummer.
