• The Triumphant Return of Hyperbole and a Half
  His first comic back from a long 18-month break explains in emotionally resonante, occasionally hilarious, detail his battle with depression.
• I Left My Heart in San Fransokyo
  Disney officially announces its first animated feature foray into the Marvel backcatalog with the little known property Big Hero 6. The team of heroes is based in San Fransokyo, a mash-up of Tokyo and San Francisco, which is totally fun to say. The later half of the article talks about the production of Frozen as well as the exaggerated death of the hand drawn animation department.
• LEGO Adds Steampunk to the Repertoire
  I’m sure someone is complaining, but I think it is totally awesome!

Hisui’s picks:

• The Dmitri Mendeleev of Middle Earth
  If geeks and nerds love one thing more than anything else it is organizing things into charts and systems. So it was only a matter of time before someone did this is the denizens of the Lord of the Rings universe.
• Why Are You so Jaded?
  An interesting insight into a possible reason certain people are drinking the Haterade.
• I Assume “Weird Al” Yankovic’s Eat It is the Hors D’oeuvre Making Stand
  Nothing makes a finger sandwich quite complete like Guido Mista’s stand Sex Pistols. Of course you use Harvest for vegetarian snacks. That is just proper etiquette.
• Poster Mania!
  A nice collection of posters.
  • Mathematical!: If your favorite mathematician here?
    
  • What Does God Need With a Poster?: These would be great for a Star Trek Blu-ray re-release.
  • Peter S. Beagle’s The Last Lithograph: An amazing lithograph that contains the complete Last Unicorn in one picture.

• Banagher Links Golf 2012 Edition
  Gundamn examines the penultimate episode of Gundam Unicorn that is filled with mecha, monologues, and mutinies. All the key staples of Gundam. In a nice bit of synergy that always speak with Stephanie Sheh the English voice actress of Mineva Zabi from Unicorn.
• That’s So ’80s
  Ani-Gamers looks at Hyper Combat Unit Dangaioh OVA. It is not THE definitive 80’s OVA but it gives you a good idea of the type of show you might find back then. And it has ladies piloting robots.
• FINALLY T-shirts that Give You a Stand
  I mean what were scientists waiting for so long?
• 3 Different Geeks Considered
  The All Geeks Considered podcast serve up three different types of nerdiness in their latest episodes:
  • They Were 11: A classic space opera based on the manga by Moto Hagio.
  • Film Noir: A look at The Maltese Falcon, Strangers on a Train, Brick as three different takes on the film noir genre.
  • Destination Moon: A movie about going to the moon almost two decades before we went to the moon based on the novel by Robert Heinlein.

• 30 Days of Sexism
  If you’re feeling cynical, you could rename this post “30 Days on the Internet as a Woman Who Likes Video Games.” But I am not cynical and I do think it is a good read. It ended up with a bunch of discussion on Twitter as well.
• “Not to say that my life wasn’t different without the internet, just that it wasn’t real life.”
  Paid to stay away from the internet for an entire year, Paul shares what he learned about staying connected. When I go on vacation, I attempt (and mostly succeed) at staying offline but a whole year is another story.

  Wow, 4-day passes are already sold out! I have a feeling this year is gonna by super crazy. I’m glad I got my ticket right at the beginning.
• Kairos: An Animated Trailer
  These are the kinds of projects that make you say, “this is why I love 2D animation!” Now I wish I could read the French comic this is for.

• Phase 1: Marvel Revengeance
  Chaos Theater look at all the Phase One Marvel movies that lead up to the Avengers movie. They also examine some plans for Phase Two and Three. I am curious to see what this Guardians of the Galaxy movie is going to be like. But they start the episode dissecting the sacred cow of the Death of LucasArts.
• I Always Thought Suzie Q was a Fairly Well Known Song
  Time for Fast Karate to look at some more of the fantastic adventures of Joseph Joestar. Look. Sometimes people miss a giant tentacled brain with mind control powers on their back. It is like not noticing you have toilet paper on your shoe.
• When Music is Criminal Than Only Criminals Can Listen to Pop
  Carl of Ogiue Maniax teams up with Andrew to discuss the surprisingly charming AKB0048. Shoji Kawamori robot action and the idol group AKB48 is certainly and odd combination but it leads to a unique mix of bubblegum pop and rebellion.
• Guile Has Some Competition
  It is not that surprising that the Internet likes Attack on Titan. But what is surprising in all the video that have been using the opening song for almost everything and anything.
• Still Wish it Was Macross
  Since I mentioned it before it started I figured I would like to the Robotech RPG Tactics Kickstarter. It made its goal in a matter of hours so you only have to contribute if you want some exclusive figures.
• Sailor Moon Joined the Hell’s Angels
  According to Ed Chavez they are clearly not Bosozoku enough for his tastes.
