• I Need All of This New Disney/Star Wars Merchandise
  Especially the pins. Okay, mostly the pins. They do this every year so it isn’t a surprise but I look forward to the even greater mountains of stuff coming out thanks to the merger.
• Like I Needed More Reasons to go to Steak ‘n Shake?
  Okay, I totally couldn’t eat that 7-patty burger but I want it anyway. The Steakburger Slinger sounds the most enticing though since it is breakfast combined with steakburgers!
• Let’s Hear It for the Villains
  DC announced a new documentary about their rogues gallery. I love geekery documentaries and we’ve had a high supply of them in recent years. I’m kind of surprised they aren’t featuring their heroes first, unless I missed it? And can we expect similar from Marvel in the near future? Especially with Marvel’s powerhouse movie sales of late.

Hisui’s picks:

• Yoko Littner: The Slayer
  A wonderful piece of Gurren Lagann tribute art by Rui Araizumi the artist on the Slayers light novels and manga. Some of the other art of the page is quite amazing including the wonderful Black Jack tribute.
• Momo Loves Peaches
  It has been awhile but The OSMcast is back again with a con report from Momocon 2013.
• I Know that the Spades are the Swords of a Soldier
  Ogiue Maniax looks at the transformation of Cure Sword from Dokidoki! Precure and how it informs us about her Character. Also does anyone know why Cure Rosetta is Cure Rosetta? I don’t see how a rosetta fits in with clubs or coins.

 It isn’t a villain line-up without The Joker! Also this artist has a pretty sweet Batman/Spawn piece, too.

• We Are, We Are VR!
  Troopers three yo!
  Vertical Inc. has started offering some of their titles on various digital platform with 7 Billion Needles, Twin Spica, and Drops of God. While Vertical had released some on its prose novels this way it is the first major push for their manga on a digital format. I wonder if some of their underperforming titles like Twin Spica and Drops of God will find new legs this way.
• Sometimes You Just Have to Laugh
  So they are making a big deal about the Japanese dub of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I admit I am morbidly curious if this will relaunch the seemingly endless debate over the show in the anime community or has that mostly run its course. I guess that all depends on how much MLP doujinshi starts popping up at Comiket.
• Learning to Love Big Brother
  Ignorance is not strength as All Geeks Considered podcasts tackles the classic film, 1984. I would like to mention that I created a White House petition to force All Geeks Considered to do a podcast of “Sex Scenes in English cinema.”  Now all we need is the necessary signatures.
• I Know that Guy. He is an Incredibly Handsome Genius.
  Yeah. I am shamelessly promoting the write up of my Tomino panel from Genericon.
• A Very Serious Trailer
  Yes I am also shamelessly promoting the trailer for the Indy RPG my friend debuted at PAX East this year. You can watch it after you watch the Remastered Duck Tales trailer for the 10th time.
• Most Men Would Rather Deny a Hard Truth Than Face It
  Mike Rugnetta ponders a question that anime and manga fans know all too well through the lens of Game of Thrones. How much does piracy hurt and how much does it help any given property?

• New Brian K. Vaughan Comic? I’m There
  The teaser art looks great and has me intrigued!
• Totally Didn’t Expect That Ending
  And that is why I’m sharing this animated short 23 Degrees 5 Minutes. The animation didn’t blow me away but I liked the story and couldn’t have predicted the ending.
• DuckTales Remastered!
  Who could have a guesses such a thing would happen? The epic beginning of the reveal trailer cracks me up.

• The End is Near (for Google Reader)
  Finally the time has come (well in July anyway), over the last couple of years there has been plenty of rumors about the demise of Google Reader but each time, somehow, it didn’t happen until now. This has of course sent tech sites and the like into a freenzy of writing about alternatives. Right now, I’m testing out The Old Reader which is in beta and I’m not the only one as my queue for importing my subscriptions was 20,794 people long.
• New Mickey Mouse Shorts
  Disney has started producing new animated shorts starring Mickey. I enjoyed the style of this romp in Paris but I didn’t find it that funny nor did I feel Mickey’s personality shown through. Still, I’m really glad Disney has reinvested into short animation, especially those featuring their classic characters.

Hisui’s picks:

• And Justice For All
  Details are starting to emerge about the latest Ace Attorney game. Apparently Phoenix Wright will return to the position of protagonist but they have not throw Apollo Justice is a major fit of retcon. I mostly just hope they bring back Maya Fey. I miss her.
  But the real question is when are we getting Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney in English?
• Return of Demon King
  The first real Disgaea sequel has come along. I would play those games more but they demand so much time to even scratch the surface on one of them.
• Pluto is no Longer a Planet but Mars Gets a Movie
  Well that Kickstarer took very little time to make all sorts of records.
  As the Reverse Thieves we of course loved Veronica Mars. So the idea that the series could get a proper ending with a movie was an amazing dream. Apparently it was a desire that a lot of people had. So the question at this point is how big will it get before it closes. I’m curious to see.

  Douglas Adams will be missed. Here is the Google Doodle they put on on his birthday if you missed it.
