• I Sense a Disturbance in the Force
  With all the mixture of nerd rage and jubilation you would expect it was announced that Disney bought the Star Wars franchise. If you remember what happened when Disney bought the Muppets and Marvel it was pretty much the same thing only with more Death Star jokes. The most interesting announcement from the whole deal was Star Wars: Episode VII being announced for 2015. With no real details beyond that I am cautiously interested in what that movie turns out to be.
• Poetry in Motion
  They should have sent a poet to review Utakoi. Actually they did. Ink from Ani-Gamers looks at the anime loosely based on the Ogura Hyakunin Isshu poems.
• It Turns Out Akito the Exiled is the Cart Driver
  Gundamn look at the Code Geass OVAs including the newest series that is set on the European front. And speaking of OVAs they also talk about the Patlabor OVA series based on the TV series as well.
• JoJo Was a Man Who Thought Himself a Loner
  Nick the Stampede & Soul Bro Ryu review the first episode of the new Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure anime.
• Type-Moon News Round Up
  • Rin Lives Out Your Dreams Once Again: A sneak peek at the new ufotable animated opening to the PSP Vita version of the Unlimited Blade Works path.
  • You Just Have to Learn Patience: A whole slew of Good Smile figures have been delayed including some Type-Moon figures.

• Anime on the Run
  This lively Japanese music video sends a girl sprinting through a collection of art styles.
• A Not-So-Happy Ending
  The short that will included on the Brave DVD?BD release looks and sounds awesome! It is about that fateful encounter in the past alluded to in Brave.
• Hark! A Hurricane
  Kate Beaton had the bad luck of being in New York City for the storm, and in lower Manhattan no less. She decided to draw about it though which is a happy like bonus for us readers.

• Mickey & Friends Defenders of the Universe
  Voltron + Disney, I’m not sure they could have combined two things I like more. I’m really enjoying these robots coming out of Japan using Disney. This one will look nice next to my Mickey Optimus Prime.
  
• Zelda Video Games Are No Good So Let’s Make a Comic?
  Earlier this year an article about the greatness of the original Zelda game was circulating the internet. In fact, I even wrote a response to it on the blog. Now the writer of that article has begun a Kickstarter campaign but not to make a game, instead he has teamed up to make a comic. I don’ really understand how this is a response to modern gaming issues though, it is a completely different medium.

• Battleplans for the Fight to Defend Manga
  If you wish you could have been at the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund panel at NYCC that I talked about in my con report this is the next best thing. A chilling account of the case of Ryan Matheson.
• Are You With Us or Against Us?
  Carl Li from Ogiue Maniax talks about his contribution to the Kick-Heart Kickstarter. While he endorses the idea (and with his money as well as his words) he is less than thrilled with some of the rhetoric surrounding the project.
• Always Go Out on a High Note
  The final Manga Out Loud plays its swan song with a look at the Tezuka manga Barbara. It is sad to see Ed Sizemore leave the manga podcast scene but I don’t think he will ever leave the fandom.
• Robot and Lesbians
  So … this is going to be the most clicked link.
  Philip looks at Fight! Iczer One at Ani-Gamers. More proof that yuri fan service has always been with us.

  This promotion for the new James Bond movie is way cool. Coke Zero must love the UK more than us. I’d like to see how this would go in a New York City subway, ha!

  It deserved a little animation love.
• I Have No Words For How Awesome This Robot Is
  Japan seriously understands how to combine my love of Disney with my love of robots. There is no price yet, but I hope I can afford it whatever it is!
• A Handy Guide to Marvel NOW!
  I’d basically been avoiding/ignoring what I could of this not-a-reboot reboot, but this guide was very helpful and actually made me decide to keep an eye on a few things afterall.
