S.W.A.T. Reviews: Winter 2014 Pt. 1

The premise of these reviews is simple: watch the first episode of a series and then immediately sit down to record a review mini-podcast. The reviews are five- to ten-minutes long and entirely off the cuff. As always we only review new shows (so no sequels or continuations) and try to avoid anything that just looks outright awful. The December 2013 Line-Up

narutaki_icon_4040 Wow, there was no holiday break this year, tons of news to wrap up 2013! Most notable to me was how many shojo anime reveal there were at the end of the year.

hisui_icon_4040 An interesting mix of anime titles that have been picked up while they are still pretty new but were not licensed when they originally aired on TV combined with a fairly large selection of manga titles released in a transitional manner as well as digitally.

The Line-Up is a monthly rundown of newly licensed in the U.S., newly streaming in the U.S., crowdfunding projects, and newly announced anime and manga projects.

Narutaki & Hisui VS. The Best of 2013

As we have been doing these awards posts for seven years now, we are finally getting the hang of it. Though we are sure to disappoint everyone because our categories don’t include the phrases “Worst,” “Most Aggravating,” or “Top-tier Bullshit.” Sadly, we still enjoy watching anime and reading manga so as the title suggests, this is a positive list. Surly, in 2014 we will totally burn out and give everyone the post that they really want. Until then you’ll just have to put up with us and hope for a dark future filled with backhanded compliments, pitch-black cynicism, and deep-rooted hatred for any material from Japan.
