All Points Bulletin: Dark Soul’s Big Boss

If you have any suggestions for what to highlight on an APB drop us a line via email or Twitter.

narutaki_icon_4040 Kate’s picks:

  • Boom Boom Satellites Retire
After their fantastic new single Lay Your Hands on Me, which will also be the title of their next album, they’ve announced they are ending their amazing career. Cancer has once again reared its head for Michiyuki Kawashima. They have given the world great music and now all we can give back are our best wishes.

hisui_icon_4040 Alain’s picks:

  • The Dark Souls of Catchy Titles
Pretty sure I am not on board with the idea of things creating their own precursors. It seems like a way of arbitrarily setting where you want the high point of a history to be and discounting or minimalizing what came before it.
  • How Did This Get Written?
And by this I mean everything that was ever written.
  • The Big Boss of the Gaming World
Trademarks, Copyrights, and Patents are clearly those extra hard optional bosses within the world of game development,
  • Not A Horror Story
But it might seem like the basis for one at points. It definitely bring up more questions than answers about how your brain works.

narutaki_icon_4040 I’m not sure how I feel about this show yet, but it has a great opening.

Type-Moon Weekly News Roundup: Troublesome Oni

This Saturday post is the weekly Type-Moon news in addition to the regular APB post on Sunday. If you have any suggestions for what to highlight on the Type-Moon Weekly News Roundup drop me a line via email or Twitter.

  • The More the Merrier
Meteo Hoshizora and Hazuki Minase have been added to the writing team for Fate/Grand Order.
  • The Many Blessings of Amaterasu
One of which is figma of Caster from Fate/Extra.
  • A Drunken Dream and Other Stories
The Restless Drunk Demons Capital – Rashomon event in Fate/Grand Order introduces the first raid boss as well as Shuten-dōji and Ibaraki-douji.
  • The Most Dangerous Trio
Artoria Pendragon, Jeanne d’Arc, and Elizabeth Báthory were announced as playable characters in Fate/Extella. I don’t think any of these are a surprise but they are still nice additions.
  • Costume Party
To make everyone happy Fate/Extella is releasing 3 special editions. The Velber Box has a bunch of extra costumes, a Saber Bride oppai mouse pad, an art book, a special box, and the PlayStation 4 and Vita versions of the game. There are also Regalia Box for either the PlayStation 4 or Vita. They only have one version of the game but don’t include the oppai mouse pad as well as having less costume DLC. Your mileage may vary if this is a bonus or not.
  • Instantly Invoking Godwin’s Law
It seems they are going to change the Gilgamesh “Coldhearted Bloodless Warden” outfit DLC.
  • Save the Date
In case you missed it Fate/Extella is set to come out in Japan on November 10th.
  • Fate/Grand Party: The New Batch
There is a whole new set of servants with merchandise at the Fate/Grand Party cafe.
  • I AM KING
    Also some real Sunday drivers.
  • Practical Occultism
Elena Blavatsky’s star is on the rise. There are already prototype figures for her.
  • The Secret Doctrine by H. P. Blavatsky
Her popularity in fan art is no secret.

No Cure For Spoilers

hisui_icon_4040 Spoilers are just part of the Internet. Every time you open up a web browser, scroll through your twitter feed, watch a You Tube video, or read the comment section of an article you roll the dice when it comes to spoilers. You can minimize your risk by avoiding places that love to post spoilers, curating your social media, and knowing when you should step away from the Internet if you want go into certain things pure. The rub is even the best ninjas of the Information Superhighway will slam into some like piece of information that ruins a big surprise in something they care about. Even Kate who is usually super good at this will get hit by a spoiler from time to time.

Now when you get spoiled by some random noodle noggin either making mischief or an honest mistake it may annoy you but it just feels like a simple act of misfortune akin to a bird pooping on your car just after you wash it. When someone you know lets something slip it feels quite a bit more personal. But when a news site does it simultaneously feels utterly unprofessional. I have noticed more and more that news sites try and tip toe around spoilers and have even started to use that to their advantage. You will see very clickbait styled titles that make it seem like they have the secrets to Life, the Universe and Everything but actually only contain the most insignificant snippet of information. It lets them draw eyeballs to what would otherwise be utterly forgettable news while simultaneously avoiding angry mobs who feel cheated.

I mostly bring this up because despite how sensitive most sites are to this I feel like the anime news sites casually spoiled major parts of Precure without a second thought. If you will indulge me I’m going muse a little about this.

Spoilers: I’m going to have to talk about Precure spoilers for Maho Girls PreCure!
