New York Comic Con 2014: Obata Cometh

(note: No Type-Moon Weekly News Round Up
or All Points Bulletin this week.)

It seems like New York Comic Con never ceases to surprise us. This year we’re lucky to have the great Takeshi Obata (Death Note, Hikaru no Go, Bakuman, All You Need is Kill) in attendance. We’re also privileged to hear from some up and coming creators during the Kakehashi Project panel. Beyond that there will be more than enough comics, movies, and cartoons to keep us busy all weekend long. We look forward to seeing you there and/or bringing you tons of coverage from the event!

S.W.A.T. Reviews: Autumn 2014 Pt. 1

Follow us directlyon Stitcher, or on iTunes

The premise of these reviews is simple: watch the first episode of a series and then immediately sit down to record a review mini-podcast. The reviews are five- to ten-minutes long and entirely off the cuff. As always we only review new shows (so no sequels or continuations) and try to avoid anything that just looks outright awful. These are the first batch from the new season and now we’ve broken them into (helpful?) categories:

Sentence: Free to Go

Listen – First impressions of Tribe Cool Crew from Sunrise. It is streaming on Crunchyroll.

Listen – First impressions of Gugure! Kokkuri-san from TMS Entertainment. It is streaming on Crunchyroll.

Case Closed Reviews: Summer 2014 Pt. 2

Follow us directly , on Stitcher, or on iTunes

First impressions are great but what about our thoughts after we’ve watched an entire series week to week? We figured our listeners might want to hear our final impressions as well so we’ve created the Case Closed Review podcast. Just like the S.W.A.T. Reviews, these will be mini-podcasts and completely off the cuff.

Here are the shows we finished from the spring and summer seasons:

Listen – Final impressions  of Blue Spring Ride from Production I.G. It is streaming on Crunchyroll.

Listen – Final impressions of Re:_Hamatora from NAZ. It is streaming on Crunchyroll.

Listen – Final impressions of Free! Eternal Summer from Kyoto Animation. It is streaming on Crunchyroll.
