• Catching up on Podcasts Roundup:
  Since the last two weeks were nothing up Otakon reports I figured I should go back and talk about some great non-Otakon podcasts that came out in the meantime:
  
  • Morrigan Le Fey: Yes. I know that will only add to the problem. I am a trouble maker. But this is not a nomenclature podcast. It is a review of the Night Warriors anime.
  • The 7th Voyage of the Mighty Titans: All Geeks Considered and Ed Sizemore look at some of the most iconic works of Ray Harryhausen.
  • Vengeance of the Space Pirate: And in the realm of anime All Geeks Considered tackles the Arcadia of My Youth movie starring Captain Harlock.
  • Leveling Up: It took me a while to get back to it but here is the OSMCast review of Level E with Micah Solusod.
  • The Seeds of the End of All TRUE Mecha: As we all know it is really Super Dimension Century Orguss that killed mecha … forever.
  • Can’t Get Enough Dick: That is the Chaos Theater motto as they examine the film adaptations of the books of Philip K. Dick.
  • That What Lurks in the Darkness: Chaos Theater looks at Requiem from the Darkness & Monsters University in a two for one deal with monsters. Also some talk about Peter Capaldi as the 12th Doctor.

• Awesome Looking New Disney Documentary Coming Out . . . in 2016
  But the trailer makes it look worth the wait. Some very interesting topics including how quickly the Walt Disney World project came together.
• History’s Defining Moments in LEGO Form
  Another way to make history even more fun: building key scenes out of LEGO! These cover parts of British history including Guy Fawkes, The Great Fire of London, and the signing of the Magna Carta.
• Even $1 Matters
  Great article about Kickstarter and crowdfunding and why making just a $1 donation totally matters. I have also had that feeling, thinking $1 wasn’t enough, and too late I have missed out on helping a few causes. Just recently I put in a mere $5 for a campaign and felt good about it, I’m more likely to do that in the future now.

• Chrono Trigger Synthetic Orchestra Now Available For Purchase
  It is just the first volume so far, after all there is a lot of music in the game, but everyone’s favorite title theme is included here.
• Final Fantasy VII 3D Sprite Figures Are No More
  It isn’t really that surprising that Square-Enix put the kibosh on these, but still disappointing.
• More Firefly Comics?
  If it doesn’t happen before, I’m expecting the full announcement at New York Comic Con.

• Other People Talk about Otakon Round Up – Part 2
  While I am sure that a few more Otakon reports will find their way into future APBs for now this is this last of my all Otakon 2013 round ups. I have some non-Otakon podcasts to talk about if nothing else.
  
  • Here Comes the Dark Sun of Baltimore: Carrie Wood talks about her Otakon experience for the Baltimore Sun.
  • Piano: The Melody of a Young Girl’s Heart: Carl Li looks at the Otakon experience and shows he has excellent taste in panels.
  • Masters of Queueing Theory: David Estrella from the Ani-Gamers talks about his Otakon experience. I still say people wait in line all the time at Otakon because they let themselves wait in lines not because they have to.
  • On a More Positive Note: Ink examines the Yoko Kanno and Chiaki Ishikawa concert.
  • The Final Therapy Session: The long-awaited Sunday report with some final thoughts.
  • 100 Episode Extravaganza: The OSMCast! celebrates 5 years of podcasting with its 100th episode. It is mostly about a reflection on the history of the podcast but they have a large section on the recent Otakon so I snuck it in here.
  • The In Review Crew vs. Otakon: The regular Otaku in review crew tackles Otakon. Kit also has her own mini report here.
  • Everything Retro is Hip Again: The Retro Games Network look at both Otakon and the BitGen Gamer Fest.
  • More Gaming the System: The All Games Otakon rport is a bit more from an outsider’s perspectivelooking in.
  • Don’t Expect Video From Us Any Time Soon: Lauren Orsini shows how she is the Otaku journalist by posting a video blog from Otakon unlike all of us primitives.

• Other People Talk about Otakon Round Up – Part 1
  Since we have been talking about Otakon all week there is no reason to stop now. But in the APB we show you what OTHER people think of Otakon. Because everyone has a unique experience.
  • Does Otakon evolve into Philanthropy at Level 35?: Lauren Orsini’s overview of the 20th Otakon for Otaku USA. This article caused a bit of conversation on Twitter about the role of anime ambassadors and the amount of non-anime content at anime conventions. Otaku USA also had a short article of 20 Otakon trivia facts.
  • Hisui, The APB Mascott: The Conventional Wisdom webcomic has a series of 15 comics about the Otakon experience.
  • The Salty Report: This is no rundown of the Salty Bet matches that played during Otakon. It is one fans horrible expediences during this years Otakon. There are some pieces that are good complaints and some of it just seems to be sour grapes.
  • Next Time Will be Wakizashi’s Otakon Trip: Anime on Top has some video giving you the pulse of Otakon 2013.
  • Been There, Done That: Carrie from the Nerdpocalypse weighs in as someone who has been going to Otakon since 2002.
  • Some Memorable Lines: MishyZ from the Anime Almanac recounts her experiences. Oddly enough I never really dealt with lines.

• KAWAIIKOCHAN!! GAMING NO KORNER Book Now Available for Purchase Online
  This book full of original material and even doujinshi of Kawaiikochans made specially for Otakon can now be purchased online. It was a rousing success so hopefully another book will be out next Otakon!
• Otakon Cosplay Boogie
  Video montages of cosplay at the convention, really well done. And the video quality is sweeeet.
