  All Geeks Considered gives you two podcasts in one post. This time it is a look at the hyper-rational with Cosmos: A Personal Voyage with Carl Sagan and then the somewhat less grounded in reality with the first Dresden Files novel, Stormfront.

  • Adventures in the The Sixth World: A new edition of Shadowrun is out! Anyone knows what the general reaction to it has been? I am always tempted to start-up a new Shadowrun game sometimes so I’m curious if this is the book to get.
  • It Turns Out the GMs Best Tools are not Just a Handbook of PC Killing Traps: I know I as shocked as anyone.
  • Everyone Knows Beelzebub is a Kill em all GM: So you should play under Mammon. He runs a real Monty Maul game.

• Now You Can Watch All the DC Nation Shorts
  Or at least you can watch a good portion of them, finally. Since I don’t have cable, I am making my way through these as we speak.
  
• Yeah, I Need This Grendizer
  After getting (and loving) the Super Robot Chogokin of J-Decker, I’m really close to buying more. This Grendizer is definitely about to push me over the edge.

I hate the word “fate.” Birth, encounters, partings, success and failures, fortune and misfortunes in life. If our lives are already set in stone by fate, then why are we even born? There are those born to wealthy families, those born to beautiful mothers, and those born into the middle of war or poverty. If that’s all caused by fate, then God is incredibly unfair and cruel. Because, ever since that day, none of us had a future and the only certain thing was that we wouldn’t amount to anything…

• Someone NOT Complaining about Pixar Sequels
  He makes some good points that their upcoming “strategy” of sequels every other year is basically what they’ve always been doing.
• The Fighting Game Community and Its Reputation Problem
  Great article about a community I know very little about and, like many others, only hear all the bad things that come out of it. I like that this covers why the recent news coverage was poor but also addresses how and in what sections the group can step up about the goings on in their community.

• You Got Mecha Questions? Gundamn Got Robo Answers!
  Since Gundamn has a solid listenership they actually regularly got enough mail so if they go long enough without answering it they get a backlog. Such a wonderful problem to have.
• Rage Against the Machine: Renegades
  Chaos Theater tackles two very different subjects with this podcast. The first half is all about the Studio Ghibli films NOT directed by Hayao Miyazaki. They have some unusual but Ed Chavez supported opinions on these films. The second half deals with the fall out from E3.
• A Misty Water-Colored Podcast
  All Geeks Considered tackle the anime anthology movie Memories.
• The Origin of Guile
  It is a Chariot Race but there is no CHARIOT! Dave and Joel tackle some more Battle Tendency. Also when are they getting to episode 500? Are they waiting for Episode 499z?
• The 3-D Gimmick Has Been Around For Awhile
  3-D pictures from WWII were recently discovered.

• Does 400+ qualify you as the King of Games?
  All Geeks Considered tackles the question of how to get your friends into Geeky Board Games with some good places to start with different friends. They mention titles or various complexity from Carcassonne and Bang! to more complex titles like Dominion. Space Cadets sounded interesting especially as a party game. Pandemic seems to be the sort of game that either brings people together or drives them part depending on who plays. Also Narutaki and her board game preferences are mentioned on the podcast.
• Robert Downey, Jr. VS. Benedict Cumberbatch
  In a podcasting cross over event Chaos Theater and Gumdamn team up to review Iron Man 3 & Star Trek Into Darkness. They clearly like one and are not to fond of the other. You will have to listen to the episode to find which is which.
• “Captain CAAAAAVEMAAAAAAANNNN!”
  Gundamn takes a look as the lesser known real robot series by Ryosuke Takahashi known as Fang of the Sun Dougram. It was keeping it real before Votoms even thought to do that.
• Doing the Kessel Run in Less than 12 Parsecs
  Despite having a series of horrible cyberpunk covers the Fast Karate book club recommends Walter Jon Williams’ Hardwired.

• The Black Glove of Hollywood is Trying to Take Down Pacific Rim
  Is Pacific Rim your most highly anticipated summer movie? Me too! But out in movieland things aren’t looking so pretty. There seems to be an active hope that the movie falls flat on its face, where is all this coming from?
• Nintendo is Losing to Itself
  The premiere of the OUYA and its ability to emulate classic consoles and games should make Nintendo take a hard look at its strategy for releasing its back catalog.
• Look at These First Images for Back to the Future LEGO
  And the emptying of my wallet. No, this actually won’t be too bad. And the detailing looks great!
