  A nice chart of some of the One Piece characters and the real life people their designs are based on.  
  
• Federally Mandated Nerd Blog Link
  For the thee people who missed the full Patton Oswalt Star Wars: Episode VII filibuster on Parks and Recreation.
• Not Nearly Enough Conversation About Sayla Mass
  Patz and Ed try to discuss Gundam: The Origin properly but sadly they miss the most important part. But their flawed discussion focuses on bringing the manga to an English-speaking audience a second time.
• The Road Map to Adventure!
  A nice collection of fantasy maps with everything from Oz to Azeroth on the list.
• Because I Like Cheesy Fantasy
  Everyone loves Game of Thrones because it is fantasy done smart but sometimes you need campy sword and sorcery adventures. Here are some decent prospects.

• Darth Vader is Lost in Japan Still
  These Tokyo Disneyland shorts are a hoot. I think I linked to the first one when it came out, now there are two more.
  
• 80 Hour Work Weeks Are Killing Developer Talent
  A good article about the loop that occurs when one employee or company works crazy hours. That five year average statistic of how long people stay in the game industry was particularly sobering.
• A Week Where They Announce All The Games Ever
  This week was kind of crazy as far as game announcements go for me. I don’t play a ton of games so there is usually only one or two a year that catch me. Just this week four were revealed! It started with the remake of Castle of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse, then revved up with a new Yoshi’s Island game, really got good with Earthbound finally getting rerelease stateside, and topped off with a new Zelda game set in the world of A Link to the Past! And they even had a preview of the Zelda game which looks great!

What else could go here? I almost went with one of the more. . . interesting. . . For the Barrel pictures but I will save those for another day.

• Layoffs in Disney’s Hand Drawn Animation Division Worse Than Expected
  This is really heart-breaking news. Layoffs have been rumored for a while but as the article says they have “gutted” the department.
• Secret Sendak Artwork
  What a treat, a special exhibit showcasing unseen Maurice Sendak artwork will be hitting NYC in June.
  
• Apple Bans Saga #12 . . . Wait Nevermind Comixology Banned Itself???
  A sordid tale of comics, sex, corporations, Twitter, and censorship. There are still a lot of questions about how this all went down, I wonder if we will ever really get them.
• That Mysterious Metacritic Score
  Long but interesting read on how that score is impacting game developement.

Hisui’s picks:

• It is Not a Heptad of Rainbows like Pretty Rhythm: Rainbow Live but What Is?
  Look. I know what your thinking. A fan made My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic cartoon. But look. I’m not trying to kill you. It is really well made and might actually surprise you with some unexpected guest stars. The fact that it looks like an official episode is impressive in of itself.
• The Game with Gemini Sunrise, Erica Fontaine, and Some Other People Now with Extras!
  Project X Zone is not just coming out in English it is also getting a sweet special edition. Guess I have to get a 3DS now.
• Diamond is Unbreakable But it is Cheesable
  JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle adds Koichi Hirose and antagonist Akira Otoshi with their stands of Echoes and Red Hot Chili Pepper. Hopefully Echoes attacks won’t take 16:30 to 23:31 minutes to complete depending on which version you get. 
  
• Plugs, Skrillex, Notch and Virtual Realty Glasses
  While only half of the Atlanta Game Development Podcast could attend the Game Developers Conference this year the information he brings back is fairly interesting. The second part of that podcast is here.
• A Lot of Utena and a Sprinkling of Penguindrum
  Since most of us (including me) could not attend the Kunihiko Ikuhara exhibit in Tokyo the next best thing is pictures from other people.

• You are the Robotech Master!
  I am a little surprised I have not heard more about this Kickstarter. It seems that Ninja Division is going to use the Palladium Books and Harmony Gold license to make a Robotech miniatures game. While it is not the Macross miniatures game we would really want it is fairly interesting especially if you are a miniatures fan and an anime fan.
• The IT crowd
  All Geeks Considered looks at Stephen King’s It. It is one of King’s most iconic works. It is curious to see the difference in perspective of the book between a horror aficionado and someone who has little interest in the genre.
• The History of the Decline and Fall of the Bronie Empire
  The Greatest Ever Movie podcast has a bonus episode looking at the 3rd season of the infamous My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. This really seems to be the season that killed a good deal of the media attention surrounding the never ending conversations about Bronies.  The real question is how good or bad is this season from an objective perspective and what impact did it have on the future of the fandom.
• The Real Question is if They Were Going to use Neil Gaiman’s Sexy Goth Version of Death or TERRY PRATCHETT’S VERSION
  The Fast Karate book club looks at what happens when two great English fantasy authors team up to write Good Omens.
• I Can’t Remember to Mention EVERY Instance of Child Prostitution
  Speaking of Fast Karate it seems that they watched Mardock Scramble on our recommendation. The question is how much will they listen to us the next time?
• “Swordfighting is a Little Like Making Love. It’s Not Always What You Do, But What You Say.”
  Sadly due to Disney deal it seems they are closing LucasArts and laying off all the staff. While most of the gaming community seemed peeved that it meant the end of the Star Wars 1313 game I will remember them fondly for their old adventure games.

  New group showing in LA inspired by Nickelodeon’s 90s catalog.
• Can We All Agree We Want to Eat this Cake?
  Prince-sama fan or not, that cake looks awesome!
