The September Line-Up

This month Sentai Filmworks continues its trend of picking up anime titles for home release before they’ve premiered. But not as many streaming announcements as I’d imagined, perhaps the first week of October will be the explosion. To top it all off there was the unreal shock of Rose of Versailles getting licensed! Every month seems to hold something delightful to celebrate.

Hooray! It seems that Mawaru Penguindrum was finally licensed as it was always meant to be. But the Rose of Versailles announcement was even more unexpected. So it proves that no matter what all licenses are still theoretically on the table. It is just some are far more likely than others.

The August Line-Up

Not a ton of stuff caught my attention this month. That being said, there were still plenty of new announcements from Japan! And with summer con season over it isn’t surprising to hear license news dip a bit. But of course we can expect next month to have plenty of streaming news with the new season about to start.

After the last two months that have been a flurry of announcements due to convention season August seems down right tranquil. Everyone but Discotek and Digital Manga Publishing seem to be taking a breather and working on all the things they just announced. But don’t worry. The falls season starts soon enough and that means more announcements indeed.

The July Line-Up

Goodness me the announcements stacked up this month! And quite of few them were unexpected delights from new anime of classic shows like Dragon Ball and Sailor Moon to the many licenses for the U.S. Con season is coming to a close with plenty to cheer about.

Convention season craziness leads this to be probably one of the most information packed Line-Ups you will see this year. There are some real surprises in the line up. Everything from old classics getting a new lease on life to unlikely pick ups most people would not have causally guessed. I suppose that is just con season for you.
