A Disney podcast that only scratches the surface of Narutaki’s love.

A Twitter conversation recently sparked the desire in me to discuss Disney animation. Luckily for me Patz of Insert Disc was also eager to host such a thing. Add in Mike from Anime Dream plus a whole lot of Disney love and you come out with a podcast that is really long. And it easily could have gone on longer. Seriously, I could have done a 10-hour podcast. We start off talking about the upcoming Oscar animated feature nomination race for a mere 3 slots this year and then jump into all kinds of Disney related topics including but not limited to the revival in the late 80’s/early-90’s, the different designs of their animation over the years, Walt’s waning interest in animation leading to Disney’s “dark period,” and our personal favorite films. There may or may not be random tangents about Pixar, Dreamworks, and us forgetting to talk about the Lion King.

Podlabor Episode 4 – Disney, Disney, and More Disney

There were way too many baseball puns during our stint on the OSMcast.

We did a guest spot talking about a certain baseball series with Basil of the OSMcast and Drew from Akihabara Renditions. No, we did not talk about the Homer at the Bat episode of the Simpsons. We talked about something even better (if you can imagine that), Mitsuru Adachi’s Cross Game manga and anime. Despite Adachi’s popularity in Japan he is relatively unknown in the U.S. We hope to begin correcting this error by talking about his recently completed series and hope to convince people to try this superb romantic baseball story that has a little bit for everyone. We also talk a bit about Sym-Bionic Titan and Star Driver as our moments of awesome in the beginning because much like the OSMcast crew we cannot help but talk about awesome.

NY Anime Festival & Comic Con 2010 Bonus Round!

The New York Anime Festival and Comic Con was amazingly packed with things to do, people to meet, exclusives to see, and panels to go to. No one could do everything they wanted to and no single person can give you a full picture of what when on. With that in mind your always relentless detectives Hisui and Natutaki along with mechanical field expert Patz from Insert-Disc try to share a bit of our experiences at this combo con. It is a frank discussion about how well we think the two cons worked with each other and what could be done to improve things next year.
