No Cure For Spoilers

hisui_icon_4040 Spoilers are just part of the Internet. Every time you open up a web browser, scroll through your twitter feed, watch a You Tube video, or read the comment section of an article you roll the dice when it comes to spoilers. You can minimize your risk by avoiding places that love to post spoilers, curating your social media, and knowing when you should step away from the Internet if you want go into certain things pure. The rub is even the best ninjas of the Information Superhighway will slam into some like piece of information that ruins a big surprise in something they care about. Even Kate who is usually super good at this will get hit by a spoiler from time to time.

Now when you get spoiled by some random noodle noggin either making mischief or an honest mistake it may annoy you but it just feels like a simple act of misfortune akin to a bird pooping on your car just after you wash it. When someone you know lets something slip it feels quite a bit more personal. But when a news site does it simultaneously feels utterly unprofessional. I have noticed more and more that news sites try and tip toe around spoilers and have even started to use that to their advantage. You will see very clickbait styled titles that make it seem like they have the secrets to Life, the Universe and Everything but actually only contain the most insignificant snippet of information. It lets them draw eyeballs to what would otherwise be utterly forgettable news while simultaneously avoiding angry mobs who feel cheated.

I mostly bring this up because despite how sensitive most sites are to this I feel like the anime news sites casually spoiled major parts of Precure without a second thought. If you will indulge me I’m going muse a little about this.

Spoilers: I’m going to have to talk about Precure spoilers for Maho Girls PreCure!

Fate/kaleid liner PRISMA ILLYA 2wei Herz! #010: This Time Illya Rips out Gilgamesh’s Heart

hisui_icon_4040 Of course the day I set aside to write up the last episode of this show is the day it comes out just before I was going to bed. Darn production delays. Just when I thought I could get one of these posts out on time life conspires to make sure that does not happen. But through dogged determination I will cross this finish line even if I am not in first place.

But lets be honest these episode posts of Prisma Illya were never going to be the most popular posts on the blog let alone the Internet. But it is both my duty and privilege to write these posts for everyone. (That is a lot of high minded talk for a conversation about the magical girl parody of Fate/Stay Night.)

Overall the last episode was the climax of this arc was the reveal of Miyu’s secret, Illya’s determination, and her transformation into her new battle form. Now that she can imagine her victory it is possible again. That is the power of the true magical girl. Even the King of Heroes cannot stop that.

Fate/kaleid liner PRISMA ILLYA 2wei Herz! #009: Kintaro Oe Went on to Have a VERY Strange Life

hisui_icon_4040 If I were smart this post’s title would continue to talk about Gilgamesh being naked as opposed to making references to a mostly forgotten saucy 90s OVA. But that is why this blog will always remain at its current popularity as it is as opposed to getting some sort of real attention. I’m sorry Kate.

You can tell everything is wrapping up because this is the episode where all the cards the series has been holding back are finally placed on the table. Well that is not exactly true. It is more like all the major mysteries are at least touched on therefore giving up at least some answers on all of them. There is still Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya Drei! after all. The identity of the 8th card (90% of the people watching the anime knew who it was by now but the characters in the show were still unaware), the nature of the new Holy Grail War, Caren’s agenda, and most importantly Miyu’s secret all get some major progress towards real answers. Many of those answers only lead to more questions but it finally feels like the show has broken out of it’s holding pattern of refusing to give up its secrets while Chloe wonders why no one is talking to solve that problem.

It seems that the King of Heroes has all the answers in his treasury in addition to swords, wine, huge flowery shields, and ancient magical jet planes.
