Fate/kaleid liner PRISMA ILLYA 2wei! #002: We are all Cancers

hisui_icon_4040 I am a Cancer as well. Not because I watched this episode. I’m not denying that is also true but what I am talking about is the fact that I was born on July 21st. So like Illya and Miyu my astrological symbol is also Cancer. In fact if I was born one day earlier I would share their birthday. Like Tatsuko I could only lie and say my birthday is the same as theirs. But I am not that sad.

But Tatsuko is the saddest heroine of her own story ever.

(Apparently July 20th has become a cusp day for Cancers so some people don’t consider being born on the 20th being a Cancer anymore. Then again it is ALMOST like Zodiac signs are silly superstitionalist malarkey that makes Neil Degrasse Tyson cry.)

Also you might wonder why Bazett is the top photo of the post when she does not even appear in this episode. One: She does appear. She is briefly in the new opening. Two: This is my blog. I put whatever I want at the top. If I want more Bazett in the posts we get more Bazett. Just be grateful I don’t randomly throw her and/or Saber at the top of all the posts. You know I will do it.

How the Library Became My Go-to Place for Manga and Comics

narutaki_icon_4040 Lately, whenever I say to someone, “Oh, check the library.” I get this look, followed by something close to: “My library never has anything I want.” I’ve taken notice because I find myself telling people to go to the library more and more often these days. I can’t really blame them for their opinion on the library though, after all up until about a year ago I hadn’t borrowed a book in a decade.

Let’s be clear, that doesn’t mean I hadn’t read a book in decade, but simply I had been buying them instead of going to the library. Then, suddenly (sooo not suddenly), my Brooklyn apartment felt full to bursting with books and I decided I had to make a change.

I went into purge mode. I found a place to donate books. Some friends were even inspired to pare down their own collections. I set a strict rule that any book that stayed was 1) something I loveLOVED and 2) was in a desirable format; everything else had to go. And this extended to all the books in my house including graphic novels, comics, and manga; everything had to be reassessed.

After I decided to change my habits, I had to figure out a better way to acquire new material without filling up my house again. Because, let’s be honest, there was no way I could have stuck to my plans if I didn’t have a place to read new things.

The library saved the day. The library is amazing.

X-Men Nerd Grudge Match Presents: Kate VS Diego

Days of Future Past is probably one of the most iconic X-Men stories of all time. That said, in reflection it was only a two chapter arc. But the memorable covers, powerful story, and lasting ramifications have made it a tale that is often repeated in other iterations of the franchise. In this podcast, we join the All Geeks Considered Podcast to discuss three versions of the story: the original comic chapters, the version from the 90’s cartoon, and the odd variant in The Super Hero Squad Show. We don’t discuss the recent movie adaptation however but you can pretty much throw a stone on the internet and accidentally hit a review of that. We give you the analysis you really need.

We also discuss Empire Biscuit, Veronica Mars, and if anyone actually likes Sad Claps.
