Narutaki’s picks:
- LEGO Tachikoma
It moves pretty well, too. And it comes with a part list in case you want to make your own! - 7-Eleven, Soccer, and Detective Conan
As far as I know this is the first appearance of Conan in the Nendoroid line of figures, something I have been hoping for! Two different uniforms to kick off the release of the 16th Detective Conan movie in theaters featuring a soccer story. Each comes bundled with manga as well and the Big Osaka version is exclusive to 7-Elevens in Japan.
- Nerd-tastic Logo Redesigns
I love stuff like this! They are most Star Wars related with a sprinkling of other series. My favorite is the Empire/Adidas mash-up. - Centaur Manga Covers [1] [2] [3] [4]
Yeah, in case you missed it on Twitter, centaur manga is a budding genre in Japan at the moment! Really.
Hisui’s picks:
- The Dream of a GOOD Episode 1
A great video that sums up they ways the basic story of Star Wars Episode 1 could have been fixed to turn it into the Star Ware prequel we wanted. - Circles, Collisions, and Sexual Harassment
An amusing chiptune version of the opening to Lagrange: The Flower of Rin-ne. While the song itself is very amusing the accompanying animation is equally charming if firmly tongue-in-cheek - The Dynasty of Gold Roger
Looks like we will be seeing One Piece: Pirate Warriors (aka Dynasty Warriors: One Piece) in November. - Rumic Cool World
Some of Rumiko Takahashi’s short stories are being turned into live action specials. Rumic Theater is often some of her best work and most of the stories would effortlessly work as live action. Curious to see how this turns out.
- Type Moon News Roundup
- Even more news from Sakura-Con: Ann has an exclusive interview with Gen Urobuchi, Atsuhiro Iwakami and Katsushi Ota, Iwakami on top of the public Q&A.
- The Blue Gunner on TV: The Mahou Tsukai no Yoru TV commercial.
- I Would Not Buy This: But it is fun to look at.
- Tiny False Tranquility: I was unaware they could make Bazett figures.
- Saber is Clearly Taking Lessons From Arcueid
I can’t wait for the next movie!
The Tokyo Spirits version of the Conan Petit Nendoroid is actually available in any bookstore (I certainly didn’t pick up my copy of #75 + figure at the 7-Eleven). Only the Osaka Spirits version (and I assume, the accompanying compilation book too) is exclusive to 7-Eleven.
Ooh good to know!
