• That Was Unexpected
  The latest .hack game is a fighting game. I can’t say I saw that coming.
• The Legend Ends and History Begins
  Sadly Noboru Ishiguro passed away at the age of 73 after working in the anime industry for decades and having his hand in countless classics. By itself directing Space Battleship Yamato would have made him legend but his work on the Legend of the Galactic Heroes, The Super Dimension Fortress Macross, and Megazone 23 only solidified his legend. Seeing him at Otakon confirmed to me that he was a master storyteller. He will be missed.
• The Hot Rod Without Andy Samberg
  Andrew looks at the somewhat contentious character of Rodimus from Transformers. You could say there is more to the character than meets the eye. But then someone would punch you.
• Does the Robot Carnival Come Just Before Mecha Lent?
  The nostalgia train goes on a trip to the past and looks back at Robot Carnival. But before then Brent Newhall derails the train with a discussion of Gundam SEED Destiny. Destiny!

  Time Machine! The Ninja Consultants interview Steve Harrison about the past, present, and future of anime.

• Delicious Design
  Do you know Pantone chips? Do you want to eat them? Well, now your dreams have come true. While these aren’t chip flavors, they still fit the bill quite well.
• Why One Piece is a Hit Time and Again
  One Piece’s unwavering loyalty to its roots keeps it great for the long haul. The observation of Luffy not having an inner monologue is also a excellent point.
• Brave: New or Old?
  Two articles discussing whether Pixar’s upcoming Brave trods new ground or not are just one more thing I’m thinking about before the film comes out. I disagree with Otaku-kun and him lumping all females in Disney in the same camp. I think Mulan took a nice step forward where her purpose was not romance based at all, but she fell in love along the way. At the same time, Erik takes the opposite almost too far. Afterall, in the latest trailer we do see that Merida’s parents are trying to have her hand won in a tournament. Still, I agree that Brave doesn’t look to have romance at its forefront and may not tackle it all. If it wasn’t already obvious, I’m looking forward to this film most of all this summer.

• Marvel Movie Marathon
  AMC’s has been coming up with all kinds of interesting marathons to get people back in the theaters. This latest one is five Marvel movies leading up to the midnight premiere of Avengers. Six movies for $40 is a pretty good deal!
• Finally. A Shiuzo Figure.
  They have been teasing this coming out for a while, but now there is an actual physical figure to see. It will be mine!
• Spoiler Etiquette
  Via College Humor. I especially liked the part where . . . nevermind just watch!
• A Kiss is Just a Kiss
  Except when people can only see it as a political statement.

• I Am Always Amused that Lum Can Still Sell Anything
  But you would think that it would be Lum on the bottle of some plum wine. I myself would get the Maison Ikkoku premium sake because Kyoko makes everything better.
• Quite the Brouhaha
  So Mass Effect 3 finally came out and boy to people hate those endings. The game already had some controversy with day one DLC and multiplayer but this really got people upset.The protest is vocal enough that even the press outside of video games journalism like Forbes is covering it and commentating on it. I myself liked the game and the multiplayer but those endings are really just disappointing.
• The Truth Hits Everybody
  But a rumor is flying around that says a free DLC pack will fix many of the problems with the ending of Mass Effect 3 and add new content as well. Is this an elaborate hoax designed play to what people want to hear or  a case of developers listening to their audience? Only time will tell.
• I’m Your Venus, I’m Your Fire
  Gundamn looks at the first 5 episodes of the second part of Gundam AGE and the anime and manga of Venus Wars. I have to say you never hear that much about the Venus Wars manga.
• We Are The No Brand Heroes 2012
  Ink covers his trip to Genericon 2012. I wish I could have attended this year but I just don’t have any money right now. Hopefully next year will be kinder.

• Forward the Foundation
  Chaos Theater examines the Foundation series which is one of Isaac Asimov’s most famous classic science fiction stories. They also have a con report from MegaCon 2012 and some ranting about the gaming community. I wish we had as equally as active a feedback section.
• Deep Down I Suppose I Knew it Had to be This Way
  PreCure was the most commonly tweeted word in Japanese in February and it all seems to be because Cure Peace has gained an Otaku following. I already mentioned that I thought this was going to happen but I did not think it would be this big. I should have known this was coming when Squid Girl’s Masahiro Anbe drew fan art of Cure Peace. Oh well. This certainly is not going to dispel many American fans of the idea that PreCure is for perverts.
• You Make Me Violate You No Matter Who You Are
  Black Lagoon is coming back soon. Hallelujah! Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!
• Lupin Steals Your Heart.
  I know that many people have been talking about the new Lupin series. What really surprises me is no one is talking about the fact that Fujiko seems just as prominent if not more important than Lupin. Heck she is the center of the promo poster and mentioned in the subtitle of the show. I don’t really have an objection to her getting a larger role in the show but it seems like something that fans would be talking about.

• The Eye of Sauron Exists. In Space.
  In a galaxy far, far away (but still closer than any other that has an actively expanding black hole) the evil of the world is keeping tabs on you!
• Spider-Man is the Best Superhero EVERS
  One of the best pieces of comic commentary I’ve read recently, well-written, thoughtful, and full of love; it says it all and reminds me why I love Spider-Man. And also Batman.
  
• SimCity Steals My Life
  Or it will steal it when a new entry in the series comes out in 2013. I have been seriously addicted in the past so if this new installment is anywhere near as interesting as they are promising, I may be glued again.
  
• Classics Go Comic
  New covers for some Penguin Classics will have art by great comic artist! Loving that Mike Mignola cover.

  I totally enjoy Reaction Guys usage. This is pretty well done, though I would say you really only need the first three panels.
