The premise of these reviews is simple: watch the first episode of a series and then immediately sit down to record a review mini-podcast. The reviews are five- to ten-minutes long and entirely off the cuff. As always we only review new shows (so no sequels or continuations) and try to avoid anything that just looks outright awful. These are the first seven of the new season:
Listen – Episode 1 of Cuticle Detective Inaba from ZEXCS with the ending “Prima Stella” by Toru Ohkawa and is streaming on Crunchyroll.
Listen – Episode 1 of Ai-Mai-Mi from Seven with the ending “Giri Giri Saikyou Ai Mai Mi!” by Ai, Mai, and Mi and is streaming on Crunchyroll.
Listen – Episode 1 of Maoyu from ARMS with the opening “Mukaikaze” by YOHKO and is streaming on Crunchyroll.
Listen – Episode 1 of Encouragement of Climb from 8-Bit with the ending “Staccato Days” by Yuka Iguchi and Kana Asumi and is streaming on Crunchyroll.
Listen – Episode 1 of Oreshura from A-1 Pictures with the opening “Girlish Lover” by Chinatsu Akasaki, Yukari Tamura, Hisako Kanemoto, and Ai Kayano and is streaming on Crunchyroll.
Listen – Episode 1 of Mangirl! from Dogakobo with the opening “girl meets DEADLINE” by M@N☆GIRL! and is streaming on Crunchyroll.
Listen – Episode 1 of Ishida & Asakura from Hotline with the opening and is streaming on Crunchyroll.
Did you WATCH Spice & Wolf? I’d trade a lot of action for “talking.”
Writer and director of Spice & Wolf are on Maoyu, BTW.
1. I actually liked Maoyu and will probably watch a few more episodes.
(Also it happens that I like well proportioned lasses and I am usually willing to give certain shows more of a chance because I am simple that way. Narutaki on the other hand has no interest in buxom ladies.)
Sorry to kill your dreams.
2. If you think that tactic will EVER get Narutaki to change her opinion on a show you have obviously never met her. This is the QUICKEST way to get her to dig in her heels deeper.

She is quite opinionated, now isn’t she? I find myself falling on the opposite side of the fence with her opinions more frequently.
I have always enjoyed that she can be a spitfire when she wants to be. But she is always polite in that regard and that is what makes her great.

I watched the first 2 episodes. I don’t think I’m the first or only person to think Spice & Wolf was a bit boring. I didn’t say I find it horribly offensive.
It probably works in your favor for me to be opinionated. You know exactly where I stand and know exactly what my taste is so you can easily know if you’ll like a series based on me liking/not liking it. If I didn’t like it, you might, easy!
-Narutaki
I do prefer people saying where they stand, rather than being wishy-wasshy.
