Chopsticks NY features articles about Japanese culture and cuisine, but more important is the guide and listings it provides for stuff around the city in the back portions of the magazine.
The guide highlights temporary events for the month, or on-going from the previous month, relating to anything and everything Japan-related. Enjoy experiences from Sake tastings to language classes to film screenings. Some activities are free while others require an entrance fee.
The listings at the back are a great resource for eating Japanese food around the city, as well as shopping and a few other specialties. But mostly the eating! And there are usually a few special offers or coupons from eateries.
This handy monthly magazine can be picked up for free at many Japanese stores and restaurants throughout the New York City area. I generally grab one from Go! Go! Curry! or Donburiya (both of which we’ve written up for Otaku NYC, too).
And of course you can use their website before your trip or if you can’t get a hold of a print copy of the magazine.
